Mt Mansfield Chimney Services

I have been using Mt. Mansfield Chimney Services for over 20 years. Our house was built in 1867 and like many old VT homes, has many unique qualities that can often turn into much larger, unexpected projects. Colin cleans our chimney every year, as our primary source of heat is with wood. In 2015, we had a complete asbestos abatement and needed our mantle and stonework behind our stove replaced. I called Colin in a panic, as this was an unexpected disaster that insurance did not cover. Colin was able to fit us in and work within our very tight budget. His work was exceptional (see included picture), his ability and willingness to work with other contractors regarding our specific needs made the overall project much easier to manage. Colin is awesome! I gave him a call and 2 weeks later he had a wood stove installed in my living room. He even had to deal with snow and ice on the roof when installing the chimney. Very professional ... an all around great guy!

Colin @ Mt Mansfield Chimney is easy to work with, very responsive, and flexible for scheduling chimney services. He does everything from installing new chimneys (woodstoves, etc.) to follow-up cleaning every few years to remove build-up. He is very quick to respond and uses texting which is very convenient.

Colin Thayer consulted with me about a stone fireplace that I wanted built, and built exactly what I wanted. He was easy to connect with by text message whenever I had a question prior to him doing my work, worked incredibly hard to understand exactly what finished product I wanted, and worked closely with me at every step of the process to ensure that the stonework he did was exactly what I wanted. I couldn’t be more pleased.

Colin never showed up for our scheduled appointment or answered my phone calls. Not a professional way to conduct business. Should be more considerate of other people's time. Definitely will not recommend to anyone.
