I bought a fixer upper that had not been maintained properly for many years. Native and Urban Design was able to help me differentiate between the weeds and volunteer shrubs and trees, and what was worth keeping. They helped me prioritize work and make short term and long term plans that respect my budget. Each project they have completed so far, including blackberry and bamboo removal/control, pruning and mulching mature shrubs, clearing debris and installing a raised planter bed, and solving a rain drainage problem, has been done well. I was told by the company that they could dig holes and plant many trees for me on short notice. They said that they could accomplish this in one day with two people. They were given a design and layout. They spent 19 hours of digging time and were never able to plant one tree. I re-dug the holes, filled in the large remnant cavities and planted all of the trees in 6 hours with the help of one inexperienced person. He also said that he was going to Salem to pickup some plants for another client and he could easily drive to south Portland area to pick up some trees and plants for me, as it was near Salem.
