Nichols Excavation

They are currently in our community doing work. The work started this week. We were notified that they were doing the work weeks ago. I understand schedules change but they didn't communicate about the new dates. They told us that they weren't tearing up the lawns.The photos will show that is not true. Then their guys leave trash on the lawn like we aren't paying for our property. Their workers stand around loudly talking smack and get mad when they realize the security camera caught them discarding cigarette butts. According to the community Facebook page, they were hired by our shady developer, Eric Dunn. If that is true, given his record, I wasn't expecting much. Finally, they never pick up the phone, so that you can speak to someone.

Their road crew did not even sandbag one of their signs and it fell on my car destroying the side mirror and tearing up both doors. Adam who was at the site tried to blame me and refused to give me any information. The only thing I was able to get was a picture of their truck he got out of and confirmed that was the company responsible. I have pictures of the sign proving it was not properly secured. Have filed DelDot complaints (my neighbor is a safety officer with them) and am waiting for the police. Tried calling the business but no response of course. Shady and unsafe.

Horrible place to work due to many reasons. There is no Safety Person or Safety meetings. They expect you to jeopardize your safety and violate OSHA rules and regulations to get a task done faster. Nichols Excavation will tell you to jump down into a trench 8ft deep with no trench box or shoring to bolt up water main flange kits. 20yrs in underground utilities work and Nichols Excavation has by far the worst safety procedures because there is none. Don't risk your life.

Company cracked my windshield left several messages . No call back. I was 4 cars behind the dump truck. The driver didnt even knkw the office number .

Great company, excellent benefits. They also do great work. Two thumbs up for them....
