Northern Lights Chimney & Hearth

We had a good experience with Northern Lights/Rock River Chimney and Fireplace. We hired them to replace our downstairs wood burning fireplace with a gas insert. Unfortunately we had some complications due to the small size of our fireplace (caused some melting of the box containing the control unit) and the wrong control unit being installed initially. This led to the fire not burning fully and shutting off automatically. The company made things right, and did not charge us extra for the service or parts needed to correct those issues. The technicians that visited our home each time were courteous and professional. We are happy with the service they provided and will be calling them again when we need our chimney inspected and cleaned or any other work done.

Took a couple days for them to return my call, but once I was on their radar everything was great. Rob/scheduling was very timely with texting and responses... and Deric the tech was friendly, professional, honest and informative. Would definitely use again!

Don’t use this company if you want basic communication and your fireplace/chimney actually fixed! My husband and I bought a house that had a chimney/fireplace and during the initial inspection we found issues that needed to be fixed. We had several company’s come out after purchasing the house to get several estimates on the fixes. I will say, Jeremy and Rob are friendly people and we would have given them our business if they actually gave us an estimate and had better communication skills via email. 12/4 - Jeremy came and did an inspection. 12/9 - sent a follow up email about the inspection/estimate; no response. 1/29 - sent a follow up email. 1/30 - company responded saying Jeremy will get back to me with an estimate. 2/26 - follow up email sent; no response. 4/4 - follow up email sent

Rob did a fantastic job examining and diagnosing the problem we were having with our wood insert. He had the technology and tools readily available to immediately take care of the problem. We will certainly use his company in the future.

I have a gas fireplace that wasn't working and I didn't have a clue who to call...I started searching for a local business on Google and found Rock River Chimney. They were able to schedule an appointment for Rob to come just two days later. He was great! Very professional, answered all my silly questions, wasn't annoyed by my son's constant chatter, and got everything working in an hour. Great service that I will use again! Thanks!
