Oakwood Electric & Generator

I have received Annual Generator Maintenance ($280) from Oakwood Electric since 2020. I scheduled the routine service for this week 3/3/2026. The technician performed maintenance checks, changed battery because it was 5 years old ($125), then informs me the oil pressure light/sensor is on. He stated, the company would call me to send out another Technician. Oakwood Electric stated I would have to pay a service fee ($190) to send out a technician to troubleshoot the problem and also pay for any parts needed for repair. I immediately declined! I called another company located in Downers Grove. They sent out a technician the following morning, he fixed the issue within 20 minutes. Jesse went out of his way to find the easiest solution to install what could have been a complex EV charging installation. He was quick, informative, and very friendly. The price was better than a competing quote for the same service. I will be using Oakwood again and referring my family and neighbors.

I called 1/26/2026 to get a quote on a simple GFCI outlet replacement. The woman on the phone put me hold, asked the guys in back and quoted me $275.00. I called Affordable Electric, Inc in Oak Brook and they did it for $125.00. Draw your own conclusions.

Just had Oakwood Electric and generator put in a Generac generator and I’m very happy to recommend them as a good business to deal with. From the initial visit with Rob (one of the owners), to the very knowledgeable installation team. They explained everything to me. Job well done.

Update: We moved and had Oakwood remove my charger and install it to our new home, they did another amazing job! Setting appointments and getting done was smooth just like before. Arvy and Jesse came to install my EV charger, they did an amazing job running the cable down the basement and into my panel from the garage! Install was clean, they were very professional as well! Also the company is very reliable and well organized, they also didn't charge for the quotation which was very reasonable unlike other companies, also the guy that came to do the quote was very professional and knew what needs to be done. I highly recommend them!
