Open & Shut

I was looking to buy Marvin windows for a new build house, and they were open to providing the windows needed for the framer to install. This company had great service along with a lot of knowledge and some of the best prices for this brand in the KC area. I would highly recommend recommend reaching out to them for wonderful quality windows if you are building a house.

Our home was built in 2018 and we discovered water stains on a bedroom wall in 2022. It was determined that water had been getting in from the window which was poorly installed. Had 3 remodeling companies come in and all 3 originally said to contact my builder because the damage appeared to be from poor craftsmanship. I contacted my builder Joe Gianni with Gianni Homes to come look at the damage and he did. He said he would have his window and stone guys come out to take a look at it. I followed up with him repeatedly over a 3 month period but he eventually stopped all communications with me. The initial consultation was very professional. The follow up visit to get measurements showed the knowledge and precision of the team. The two men who installed were very neat and clean. The area was kept pristine the entire week it took for the job to be complete. Excellent craftsmanship on the carpentry work around the windows. They look better than new. The painter was very particular about his job. He waited three days to get the correct stain color, he wouldn’t settle until it was a perfect match. I highly recommend. .

When our original patio door to the deck finally began to fall apart, we opted for a Marvin door from Open & Shut. We love the quality of Marvin and the fact that it is a US made product. Open & Shut was awesome to work with from Misty and Jake to the crews that installed it, wrapped it on the outside to match our existing siding and stained it on the inside to match our existing stain. The door is beautiful and the view is magnificent...just wish the view was for mountains and streams instead of our backyard. Well done, Open & Shut team!

I work with Open and Shut over a two year period to get repairs and window replacements on my house. The first project was to replace siding on 2 sides of my house and replace 6 windows. At the time they were located in Lenexa, a few blocks from my house. I believe in using local people and it made it easy to meet with them being so close. Misty was a great help and made both experience great. They were on time and followed up on each job. Their crews were always on time and cleaned up after each day.
