Parkade on 8th

Parkade on 8th at 801 Filbert St. is a convenient parking garage in Center City, Philly, close to Jefferson Station and the Fashion District. It’s a solid choice if you need parking near Market East, with decent rates compared to other garages in the area. The entrance can be a little tight, so take it slow. It’s usually busy but not impossible to find a spot. Security is decent, and the location makes it easy to walk to Chinatown, Independence Mall, or nearby hospitals. Just check for any event-day price hikes before parking!

Some of the other reviews are a bit dated in my opinion. I used this garage a couple times while touring around the city and I didn't have any issues. The garage looks clean, no sketchy people were hanging around, and there's a good amount of space. If you come towards peak hours, you'll probably end up on the roof, but it's not bad at all, and checking out was real easy. I'd come back, it's a good location for walking to other things.

The PHLASH website lists Parkade on 8th as a PHLASH sponsored discounted parking location. PHLASH also lists on their website and via telephone that they are currently running 10-6 daily. However, PHLASH is actually only running on a weekend basis. Again, this is not posted anywhere. After already being disappointed that we couldn't use the PHLASH pass we paid for, we called the garage for help getting the discount. They were unable to assist getting the discount or unwilling to help out tourists that were misled by the incorrect information on the PHLASH website and phone line. We ended up paying $26 for parking that was supposed to be $11 while also paying $10 for a service that wasn't even available to us. I was happy to discover that this garage has an early bird special -- in by 10:00 instead of the usual 9:00. The garage was clean and well lit, and the attendant who showed me where and how to make the automated payment was pleasant and courteous. Best of all, I parked and locked myself. No leaving keys.

Lease holders not honored. They oversell parking spots. If you have to come in after 9am there's a good chance you won't be able to find a place to park though the "lease holder" sign will be up. Pointless to have an account.
