PaulWorks Masonry Contractors & Tuckpointing

had a pretty big tuckpointing and masonry job done on our two flat and really happy with how everything came out. the building is from the 1920s and honestly the mortar hadnt been touched in probably thirty plus years. the front facade had joints that were recessed way too deep from erosion and the side wall near the gangway was in even worse shape with whole sections basically hollow. also had a few bricks on the parapet that had cracked from water getting in and freezing. called around to a bunch of masonry contractors in the Chicago area and PaulWorks stood out bc the estimator actually climbed up and inspected the upper portions instead of just eyeballing it from the sidewalk like a couple other companies did. their quote was detailed and broken down by wall section so we knew exactly

so we had this ongoing issue where water was getting into our second floor unit every time it rained hard from the west. tried caulking around the windows thinking that was the problem but it kept happening. finally called PaulWorks and the guy came out and figured out pretty quick that the mortar joints on the entire west wall had failed to the point where wind driven rain was just passing straight through the brick. he showed us spots where you could literally see gaps between the bricks where mortar used to be. they did a full tuckpointing job on that wall plus touched up the front where it was starting to go too. crew was efficient about it, maybe three days total with scaffolding for the upper sections. havent had a single drop of water inside since they finished which was about seven

If you live around here and have older brick like most of us paulworks is a good pick. They fixed our back wall without making a mess.
