Paving by Custom Construction

I’ve never left a review before, but I felt like I had to with this one. Paving by Custom Construction did an absolutely amazing job on my driveway! Even driving by at 40 mph you can see the quality and attention to detail right away. I did my research. got a few quotes, and I’m so glad I chose them. From the start, getting a quote was simple and they were super personable, which made the whole process easy. These guys worked quickly and left everything spotless. The House around the corner had their driveway done around the same time, and the difference is night and day, mine looks smoother, cleaner, and way more professional. Joe was very professional in our first meeting, providing a very reasonable estimate and details of the job. After we accepted his quote, the timeline outlined was followed to the minute. We were very happy with his work, his crew and Abby, his office manager.

Joe and his team did a solid job repaving the driveway overall. However, I was disappointed with the edge left on the apron—it’s not a straight edge and detracts from the finished look. Before the work began, I specifically spoke with Joe about my concern regarding the edge, especially since removing the old pavement had caused a small gouge in the road. He assured me that a clean, straight edge would be achieved, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Photo attached for reference.

Joe and team exceeded my expectations. I was impressed with how Joe interacts with his customers, how he works with his fine-tuned team, and how he constantly took the lead on every important aspect of the job. You could tell his people have been with him a long time. We received two additional competitive quotes. Joe was the only person who made important recommendations such as on drainage. I’m not a driveway expert but I like to be involved so that the finished project is what I envisioned and so that there are no do-overs. Joe was patient and considerate. Many of our neighbors have complimented us on how nice the driveway and house look.

Our driveway had to be replaced as it was 30 years old. Several sink holes were also present. We got four quotes including Custom Paving. A salesman for the other companies came and quoted the driveway and never said how they intended to fix the sink holes. This company’s owner comes and quotes the driveway and explains what process they will do to fix the sink holes. All prices were similar except the previous companies quoted 2 1/2 inches compressed to 2 inches for the driveway which is what they called standard for residential driveways. Custom quoted a full 3 inches compressed to 2 1/2. Four weeks later, the workers come including the owner to do the driveway.
