Be sure to check around for better pricing. I feel like I’ve been taken advantage of for the last couple years with the amount I’m being charged. My most recent delivery compared to my sister-in-law using a different company is a 66% increase. I plan on filing a complaint with the Attorney General‘s office and maybe nothing will come of it, but I would definitely encourage customers to shop around and not be a victim of price gouging.

Reading the negative reviews, you can really see the difference between people who actually had a bad experience and those who cannot accept responsibility/don't understand how things work. My account was put on hold because I missed a payment. That's my fault! I paid it and called, and they were originally going to deliver in a week. When I explained my oil was out and I had no heat/hot water they scheduled an emergency delivery for me to receive partial in 24 hours to hold me over until they could make a full delivery. Petro's website leaves a little to be desired, but when I call, the customer service is friendly and helpful, and they make sure my family doesn't freeze! I've been a customer since moving to New England last year abd don't forsee leaving them until I move again.

Just before a major snow storm, they refused to bring me oil unless I paid them $200. It's freezing tonight and I have to wait till between 10:00 and 1:00 later today to feel heat again. My account balance is below $200. I'm so disgusted. I turned the oven to 400° and left the door open. Update: a man was here this morning to start my furnace with a little bit of oil. I was up all night so I fell asleep when he left. I woke up to 57° and the furnace is not running. Did it run out of oil already? Update: The call center people should be paid more than a man who knows how to operate a hose. The boy they sent told me there was no electricity to the furnace. Been customers for 2 weeks. Had our appointments rescheduled or no-show four times. Nearly impossible to get in touch with someone on the phone. Had to cancel service, would not recommend!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! ZERO STARS! I had a new furnace installed by Petro last December but, as they were aware, used a different company for heating supply. I was told that the furnace had a one year warranty. 13 and 1/2 months later, I woke up freezing and found that the furnace wasn’t working. I called Petro with the understanding that I knew the warranty had just expired, but regardless, needed someone to come out to repair it at any cost. I was told that because I wasn’t a “current customer” they actually refused to service the furnace that they installed! I have since told all of my family and friends to stay far away from this company, and urged them to pass my story along to everyone they know.
