I'd thought that I could work at getting my Japanese Maple stump out on my own. Worked hard for days with all kinds of hand tools and it just wasn't budging and I wanted to be done. I called Dan this morning after he was referred to me by Blue Ox Tree Services, the company who cut the tree down for me, and he came to the rescue. He had great precision and took his time as he was working close to my house and the front porch. He's down to earth, easy to talk to and works hard. The city took out a 100+-yr-old maple tree from in front of my house and I sent out requests for quotes to have the 4' stump ground to seven local tree companies. Red Oak was either first or second to respond, within an hour of my sending out the RFQ, and Dan was the only one to actually show up to my house in-person to inspect the stump. Of the seven RFQs I sent out, five companies responded, four of which were within $75-100 of each other, and Dan's quote was lowest. A week or so later I called him to offer him the work and schedule the work, and he surprised me by saying he could do it the following day.
