I would give zero stars if I could. In April 2024 I had my annual oil furnace inspection and the technician recommended that I replace my gas water heater because it was vented improperly and according to him carbon monoxide was leaking into my basement. I spent almost $7,000 for them to put an oil-fired water heater in place of the gas water heater. It looked like the vent piping for the new heater was pretty much the same configuration the old one but I didn't think anything of it because they're the experts, right? This past January I was home when I noticed a burning smell coming from my basement and when I went down into my basement I noticed a thick smoky haze. The fire department came and fortunately there was no fire but soot had backed up into the exhaust pipes and had gotten into

I have been a customer for 7 years and they just lost my business. I had concerns about a bill that I believed was unfair, given my past charges. Despite reaching out to customer service via email and speaking with an agent on the phone, I was ignored. When I called again, I managed to connect with a service manager, but she showed no willingness to listen to my concerns. Her lack of interest in customer satisfaction was disappointing, and as a result, I will happily take my business elsewhere.

Called for a price as a new customer, they told me I would have to pay for a safety inspection ($89 I think she said) Required by code. When I asked which code requires that (simply question as I am a curious person, and my previous supplier never mentioned any such requirement) and the lady on the phone got extremely defensive and snarky, and told me that I have to pay for the inspection and not to argue with her 🤯, I called another company (Countryside Fuel) who told me they do an inspection prior to 1st fill as a courtesy and it is free. Sooooo, call Countryside I guess 🤷‍♂️

Mike came to our house this morning for an annual cleaning/service call/answer some questions visit. I have had Mike here before and been pleased. He is maybe one of the most competent technicians whom I have ever had perform service on my heating unit. He is knowledgeable, smart, efficient, and competent. He diagnosed several issues in moments and discussed them with me, all while being aware of our current climate. He was able to answer all my questions concerning a newer addition to our heating system and provided solid recommendations. He is truly a great member of your service team.

We recently had a new boiler installation that went very well. The salesman Matt quickly assessed our needs and got us the right new unit for our application, and the installers Andy and Dan were very professional, prompt, and efficient. The work was completed to a high standard and I'm very happy with the end product. I've been using EG Smith for a few years for all heating and cooling needs, and I'd recommend them to anyone.
