SABI Construction

I worked with Sabi Construction on a complete gut renovation of our one-bedroom apartment in a NYC brownstone co-op. The project involved upgrading a very old electrical system, moving and rerouting old plumbing, fixing walls, replacing slanted and damaged floors, adding cabinets, upgrading appliances, and figuring out the décor of all of this. The subcontractors – plumber, electrician, floor, tiling, and cabinet hanger people – were all top notch. They were respectful of the building and neighbors, and extremely detail oriented, creative, and thorough. The project involved dealing with the co-op board, building management, utility companies, the Dept of Building in NYC, and everything from beginning to end. If anyone has ever done a renovation in NYC, you know this is no small task!

I recently worked with SABI on a bathroom gut and renovation after discovering a leak, and the experience was very positive overall. From the start, they guided me through board approval and permitting, and managed the design and construction with professionalism. When an unexpected issue came up — a leak from the upstairs neighbor’s bathroom — SABI was extremely helpful in quickly diagnosing the problem and explaining what needed to be done. They helped me with communication with the management and neighbors which made a tricky situation much easier to navigate. The bathroom turned out very well, and I’d happily recommend SABI to anyone looking for a reliable and detail-oriented renovation partner.

We HIGHLY recommend SABI construction. This was our first time using them for installing a new shower door in our existing main bathroom. We are also looking forward to working with them on future projects! What more can we say. After dealing with our fair share of crummy contractors, we had started to lose hope, but Agim (Jimmy) and his son Isli renewed our faith in contractor world humanity! For the initial meeting, they were very professional, kind and gave us a no fee appraisal. They offered good value versus the other contractors we contacted. Isli was very communicative during the entire project and despite some unforeseen issues, we stayed on budget and on time to get everything installed. They also broke down cost very transparently, showing us receipts on the materials included.

SABI Construction exemplify how contractors should work. They were open, honest, and communicative about what work would be done and when. They worked quickly and efficiently to remodel our kitchen. They provided regular updates on their progress. They were respectful with our neighbors (a huge thing in a coop). And most importantly, their work was of the highest quality, and we love our new kitchen. I rarely write reviews for businesses. I am writing this review, because you have to use SABI. I have dealt with terrible contractors, but this company is truly a diamond in the rough.

SABI renovated my kitchen and bathroom in my Manhattan studio apartment, plus repainted the rest of the apartment and added some overhead lights. They worked with me to plan how to rearrange my kitchen to make it more functional, worked around an inconveniently placed gas line, fixed issues like when broken or incorrect materials were delivered to the site, and generally handled the project professionally. I worked primarily with Isli, who is very responsive and reasonable to work with. My project finished a bit late, but not much. I highly recommend SABI!
