We contracted with Salem Windows & Doors two summers ago to replace our front door and frame including a large window, and they did such a fantastic job that we didn't hesitate to go to them this past December when we needed to replace all the wood windows and doors on the back of our house. John took time to measure and remeasure every space and to discuss options with us, giving the pros and cons and price points of each. Once we settled on the best choices for our situation, John got us on the schedule for installation this month (January), and the work started and finished in exactly the time frame we were given. Beware! I do not recommend Salem Windows & Doors (SWD) for replacement windows. They represented to us that they could match (within nearly undetectable aesthetics) our existing windows in our home. We trusted their word and paid a $20,000 deposit to order our new windows. Windows were ordered that did not match our existing windows (including transoms that were a different height than our existing windows). The only measurements that were given in the quote were overall measurements. Since we are not window professionals, we did not know what further details we needed to verify that the correct windows were being ordered. Our mistake was trusting SWD. Ben Heinsohn and his installation team were the best! Ben is very knowledgeable about his product and he was always available to answer our many questions in a timely manner. His installation team of Jim, Jayson, and Robert were excellent. They are highly skilled, considerate of your home, and polite; we had complete confidence in them. 33 new windows and 3 new doors later and we could not be happier!
