I spent a significant amount of time with San Clemente Woodworking settling on the design details and price for our staircase remodel, and I was encouraged by their apparent expertise, flexibility, and capabilities. But then came the payment schedule, where they were requiring 40% of the job to be paid up front, which is not permitted in California. I requested a payment schedule with the maximum allowed up front cost of $1000, and they sent another schedule. This one had the $1000 up front cost, but still wanted 40% of the job paid prior to ordering materials, which is also not permitted in California. Amazing job on our small project. Added a banister that matched exactly with our fancy floors /steps . Project was at the cost quoted and was installed promptly only took 3 days . Finisher did an amazing job as well!

The Estrada’s of San Clemente Woodworking did a wonderful job on our renovated house’s staircase. They were pleasant, honest, nice people. They made every effort to help make a design for our stairs that was exactly what we wanted. We chose to have metal spindles with an alternating pattern of plain spindle with a spindle with little knobs. They took some time to help us lay out in a pattern that we liked using real spindles.. The installation was done with a craftsman’s attention to detail. They laid out our pattern carefully on the steps which was a real math/design problem as there are safety spacing requirements, numbers of spindles per step, turns and landings. They actually custom made the wooden newel posts and handrail. They also installed skirting along each side of the stairs

I have worked with San Clemente Woodworking quite a few times. Their craftsmanship is unmatched and I look forward to working with them again.

Thoroughly satisfied with our new stairway. Ed gave us excellent recommendations to enhance the look of our stairs. Everyone very professional from design, demo, and installation. Special thanks to Nick (Mr Perfectionist) who is a very talented woodworker. Everything stayed clean while the work was being completed and work was done on a timely manner as promised.
