I have had amazing experiences with Matt! He knows his trade and always trys to save the client money! I don't think the previous reviewer has a grasp on reality. I'm an entrepreneur bootstrapping a new business and Matt goes above and beyond to help an upstart, working class guy! Honest and more than fair, as the previous reviewer even indicated with a quote! This is the company I will use for the rest of my life! I'd give 6 stars I'd I could.

Matt seems like an honest guy who will do things as economically as possible. That is a rare find in today's world. He fixed something residential for me quickly, and his fee was very reasonable.

The review Ellen left…she sounds like a real clown. Matt is a straight up guy. Did a pool electric setup for me and fixed a few outlets to help me out. He was in and out and priced VERY reasonable. Will and would recommend to others.

Best electrician in Kankakee County!!! Agree with Loren, the one negative reviewer I can find is disillusioned. Matt does all my electrical work and is the only electrician I will recommend to friends and family. If anything, Matt does not charge enough for his superior work. Honest and hard working people are hard to find these days, but Schmidt Electric is exactly that. I only wish more companies were like them.

Would not recommend to anyone!! They sent me an invoice from July 29,2023 and first time I received it was Dec 21, 2023. The guy indirectly indicated I was lying about just now receiving the invoice then proceeded to charge me $252 for a service call which they labeled "labor"'on the invoice. No labor or parts were needed. They were there for 10-15 mins to look at the problem and said to call ComED and charged me $252. This should have been a $100 service call. Matt said "pay what you think is fair and do not use us in the future for electrical work". Done and done! I'll pay them $100 for a service call cause that's what it was and will not use them in the future;
