Sears Appliance Repair

I will never use this service again. The tech that came out to look at our dryer said it was just the cord that needed to be replaced. I bought the cord and upon inspection found that this was much more than a cord issue. It was actually either a manufacturer or installers issue as the dryer was only one year old. When you call Sears’s service tech it clearly states that the fee is only applied if you don’t have them do it it was apparent all he wanted was a quick $138 because he didn’t have the cord and more than likely knew it was an issue. Went back to where we purchased the dryer and they took great care of us. Brand new dryer being shipped and installed.

Glad the appointment could be moved up. Sad that after tech misunderstood my expressed preference to repair rather than replace, he denied that was what he heard me say and said he had already erased the estimate for repair; for some unknown reason of "company policy" he could not provide me with a new estimate today so we could move forward, but said instead I needed to call to make another appointment to get the same repair estimate. The original estimate he showed me on his phone was around $675.

I agree with another reviewer. Michael was terrific. However, on the day I was scheduled for the assessment of my washing machine’s issues, I waited all day at home only to get a text at 4:15 that no one would be coming that day. I was scheduled for the following week. Ultimately I’ve had to wait 3 weeks for the repair, which occurred today. The fee was extraordinarily high, almost $600, nor was I given an itemized bill to show parts and labor charges. I know the part only costs approximately $30 and the repair took only 20 minutes. Plus I had to pay in full in advance. Michael did a good job and notified me in a timely manner of when he would arrive (which he did, as promised), but dealing with AI and less than straightforward customer service on the part of Sears Home Repair, I can assur

The technician was prompt and knowledgeable. However, the part needed to be ordered. Two weeks later, the technician came to my house to install the part; however, unbeknownst to him or me, the part was canceled because it was no longer available. This is the 2nd time I have attempted to use my Sears Appliance Repair, the first time was a disaster, as the AI kept delaying my service order week after week, for my washing machine, until I finally had to call a local repair service to fix it. SO, now I'm waiting to hear from YOU as to how you are going to proceed with repairig or replacing my microwave.

Paid for nothing! Technician came out, supposedly ordered the parts and said he would come out in a week to complete the repair. I received a call the morning the repair was to take place asking if I had received the parts because he had not. I was never told that parts were being shipped to me, nor was I provided any tracking information. The tech did not know if the parts were being shipped to me or to him and also had no tracking information. He told me "There's nothing I can do," and told me to call the customer service number. The customer service line WILL NOT connect you to a human and all it could tell me is, there are no part orders associated with my repair. I still have a broken dryer after spending good money to have it repaired. I wish I had researched Sears before beginning
