Sears Appliance Repair

Based on my experience, I would believe any rating over 1 star is an AI bot or was paid for. I was charged a diagnostic fee even though it was under warranty. Technicians never show up when scheduled. Sears expects you to wait around 8-5 then reschedules late in the day. We still have a fridge that works intermittently since August and have lost all products three times. It is impossible to talk to a human for any issue. Please share this review for Sears Home Services and Kenmore products with others so they do not have the same experience. Edit: Below you will see an automated response. The phone # connects to an AI phone prompt that offers zero assistance and does not let you talk to a person so I consider Sears at less than zero at this point.

Technician opened my fridge and checked the temperature. Nothing else. Didn’t check connections. Didn’t run a diagnostic. Issue is intermittent but doesn’t mean you shouldn’t check the fridge. Said there was nothing he can do and to deal with the insurance company. Was supposed to arrive between 8am and 12pm. Got here at 1:15pm. Second time sears has come out and nothing was done. First time was in October of 2025. It’s January 2026.

John Hitchman was much more thorough than the first tech, who could have researched the fact that the door needed was no longer available as the unit is more than 18 yrs old. This repair was through First American Home Warranty. I must amend this review because I just found out that John Hitchman forgot to turn the water back off and now my floor is flooded!!!

Sears has definitely changed over the years & it isn’t pretty.I called thinking I was going to be able to talk to a technician, but I got an AI Assistant! I wanted to talk to a human about issues with our LG Washing machine, to see if they may have a part for it, but no, you have to PAY for the technician to come out & look at it & then he tells you they don’t make parts for it anymore.. bad for consumers, great for Sears. We will never call them again & have always went to Sears for any appliances since 1984! We will never consider Sears again for any appliances

Mr. Donald looked over my dishwasher and went the extra step to see what was going on. He was able to get me more information about the next steps that we would need to do. He was very courteous and kind and I would welcome him here anytime.
