Sears Appliance Repair

I absolutely loved James, the technician — he was professional, kind, and genuinely helpful. Unfortunately, the Sears Home Services system itself is a disaster. I spent hours trying to reach a human being, but the entire process is 100% AI-driven, with no effective way to speak to a real person. What should have taken two visits turned into four, simply because I could not reach anyone to correct basic issues. 1.The technician came out and correctly diagnosed the problem. 2. The wrong part was sent, but I had no way to contact anyone to reorder the correct part — I had to wait until the next scheduled appointment just to tell the technician. 3. The correct part still never arrived, and again, I had to wait for another appointment simply to explain this. 4. Finally, the technician was abl

Gary was amazing. Extremely disappointed with Choice warranty. They offered to give me a gift card for $227 for a new dishwasher. Just the delivery and installation with cost me around that. I am basically on my own to replace a the dishwasher.

The Sears AI and schedule service was a disaster and we will never be using Lowe’s or Sears again. However, James, our Technician, was one of the best we’ve ever had and I hope he starts his own business where he doesn’t have his hands tied by a mindless system.

Inadequate inspection of range led to ordering of parts and installation without a proper assessment of the stove. On the initial visit, the technician observed the range making a beeping sound. He did not do due diligence in his inspection. He did not open up the top of the range to evaluate properly. Had he done so he would have noticed there was a roach in the electronics. He would have then notified us that the repairs would not be covered. At which point I would not have agreed to the technician ordering parts or returning to install said parts. The technicians sloppy unthorough rushed assessment led to us having a bill over $500 which we would not have agreed to. I could have fixed the unit for less than $200 with genuine parts on the web.
