Seneca Light and Water

Seneca light and water has always been good for us the last four years. I have lived in 3 different places in South Carolina and these people are wonderful to deal with. I wish our new home used their services for both power and water. No gotcha's in their service, insane rates, or weird power usage hours you have to worry about, like with other services. The only thing I can really knock them on is that because they're municipal, some things can't be done online like you'd expect with a private company, and they aren't open past 5pm. But they make up for it in my experience with over the phone interaction and online billing/autopay.

Awesome company, needed to move a electric pole for a new house I am building and it was a quick call, location request and bam 10 days later the pole was moved to the new location. Truly rare to find such a customer focused company! Yet another reason I love living in the "Golden Triangle"

Embarrassingly-run company. If you have other options for utilities, avoid the nightmare and don’t go this route. They are rude, snappy, and extremely slow to help you in any way. I’ve had intermittent brown, soil-rich water for 2 months. Seneca Light and Water assessed and said they couldn’t find anything wrong. All brand-new piping was installed and guess what? Still brown water. Have been trying to get them to come back out for weeks now… after 20 minutes of waiting, all you get is some angry receptionist who assures you that someone will reach out to you about your issue, only to never hear a word from anyone.

This company is stuck in the stone ages. Everything has to be done in person, and most of the time, they are rude. I had an issue with my bill. They claimed that I used 9,000 gallons of water in one month. I told them this was absolutely incorrect and it needs to be checked again. They suggested that I had a running toilet, but I didn't. My landlord came out and did several tests with a plumber. They did a dye test and several other ones all indicating there was no leak. Then the company said someone must be using my water. That wasn't true either. I asked if they could have someone come out because the person they sent out just rode by and read a meter. He didn't even get out of his truck. I watched him do this. They said if I wanted someone to come out and check again, I would have to pa

I just want to send a huge THANK YOU to Seneca Light & Water. Having lived in multiple different states, from FL all the way up to RI.... Seneca Light & Water is hands down the best utilities company I've ever had. I feel lucky and beyond grateful to fall under their care.
