My swimming pool was completed in May 2024 by Simonton Pool Consultants. Approximately 4 months later, in Sep 2024, my Hayward pool heater began leaking. I notified the contractor, Mr. Mark Simonton. Two months later, Hayward warranty dept sent a technician from H2Oasis Pools, LLC, to inspect the issue. The technician determined that the copper Heater Exchanger was badly corroded and broken, causing the leak. The technician checked my pool chemistry on the spot and confirmed it okay, and could not have done that damage. My past water test records also showed copper residues appearing in my pool from July 2024, just two months after installation. He was surprised at such a rapid copper pipe corrosion.
