SJRWMD Observation Tower on Lake Jessup

I’ve been wanting to hike out to the tower for years but just never made it. Finally got out there and really enjoyed it. Nice and quiet, with a great view. Sure, the tower is set back a little bit but you get a decent view of the lake. Plus, it seems like it’s decently maintained for what it is and the brush is kept away from the structure for easy access. Definitely come during the dry season and not after it’s been raining. You don’t want to mud and the mosquitoes unless you’re straight up swamptastical. The whole area is extremely low elevation.

Nice and quiet and beautiful sunsets. You can't technically see the sun setting over the lake but it's gorgeous nonetheless.

A nice place for a quick walk. Saw some deer on the trail. When tanning the trail stuck to the left side of the loop. The right side is muddier.

Great view! Worth the short hike.

If you're up for a 30 minute walk in the woods, the lookout is nice. Good "off the beaten track" activity. Difficulty level 1, though not handicap accessible. Went on a weekday in April, didn't see anyone else.
