Smith’s Asphalt Service

He quoted us a price to do a portion of our driveway with asphalt millings. It was only verbal, which was our mistake. He actually did less than what was agreed on and ended up charging us almost twice what he quoted. Be very careful if you have any dealings with this company. We paid $2760 for this.

I asked for a estimation 4/17/23 and Harry said it would be between $1700-2100, using the melting, recycled asphalt, so I said go ahead. After it was completed, they measured and informed me it would be $8900. I asked several times if there was a sealer, and Wayne and Harry told me when they finished rolling it, no sealer would be needed. Then they on 4/23/23 Wayne came back and said they needed to spray a sealer, but they would ONLY charge me for the sealer, not the labor. When I asked how much, they said $42 per gallon and 40-50 gallons. It ended up being 150 gallons. I called other asphalt companies and found out I paid the same price as new asphalt, and that the sealer should have been $48 per barrel not gallon, and anybody charging by the gallon was trying to fraud me.

Overall, my experience with Smith's Asphalt Service was positive. They arrived on schedule, did the job efficiently, and cleaned up afterwards. A reputable and professional organization.

Wayne and his team completed an asphalt project for our family. He was very professional, prompt and did a thorough job. His communication was excellent and he guarantees his work. We were very pleased with how the project turned out and he left the jobsite as clean as he found it.
