SoCal Fencing Academy

Coach Hamid has been a very wonderful coach. He genuinely cares for the well being of each and every fencer yet challenges them to reach their highest potential. My child feels valued and comfortable sharing her thoughts as the coach takes the time to listen to her concerns and struggles and he would mentor and encourage her. We also LOVE and appreciate the friendly and positive environment of the club. The parents are amazing and incredibly supportive of each other and the fencers. The fencers are friendly and respectful. At the end of each intense practice, my daughter always comes out of the class looking content and happy.

Coach Hamid has been there for my son in good times and bad times. He truly understands each of his students as a fencer and as a person. He is simply a wonderful coach and mentor! The fencers and parents here also make one of the nicest communities with genuine camaraderie. I can’t say enough good things about SoCalFA. A nice facility with a great location is a bonus.

One of the main reasons that my son joined SoCal FA because coach Hamid treats all the fencers the same way; and has the same expectation of them regardless of their ranking. He trains the fencers in all aspects of the game: conditioning, technique, strategies, and mental toughness. He mentor the fencers outside of classes and listens to the parents' concerns and feedback. Additionally, the kids and parents here are a close-knit group. Everyone cares and celebrate the each other' success on and off the strip.

SoCalFA is a wonderful place for fencers. Coach Hamid is genuinely interested in each kid’s potential and well-being. We’ve seen kids here accomplish in fencing, academics, and display character and team spirit. There’s an extremely unique culture of selfless support for one another among the fencers and their families. It’s a great place to be part of.

Without a doubt, SoCal Fencing Academy has been the best place for my child. Coach Hamid has utmost interests to bring out the best qualities in any child who is interested in fencing. When my son was not doing well, and feeling defeated after a tournament, coach Hamid was able to ignite my son's the passion in fencing again and again. With that, I also notice that my son has become more disciplined in studying. He has become more mindful of things. He managed to get trained for about 15 to 20 hours a week, and still be able to find time for all his homework and projects, flying out on weekends for tournament before the pandemics, and that's with marching band and other extracurricular activities. Never thought my son would be eating and working on his homework at the airports proactively.
