I adopted a beautiful dog named Baby Girl, a Shepard mix. I was told she was cat friendly. Long story short, she was NOT. She does not get along with cats. I had to return her after 1 week. Just not a good fit for me. She will be great for an active family that will play with her daily. I am 74, i can’t do that. She is very loving. When I called they sounded very nice. So I take her over to them & the woman at the desk treated me so rudely. I apologized, she acted like I was an evil person. If someone needs to return an animal they need to understand that every animal is a good fit. Please be more understanding when someone needs to return an animal.

I volunteered here as a part of my company's volunteering event. The staff is really friendly. The place is well maintained and organized. I walked a few dogs and they were all very cute and friendly, and deserve loving homes

Thanks for letting my daughter and I come in and visit all the beautiful dogs. Anyone looking to get a new dog please please please consider looking into the shelter! All these puppers deserve good homes! This is Kelly. She was very shy with me buy warmed up very quickly and than had some cute little zoomies.

The adoption program from this place really does not work. My wife brought in a stray cat she fell in love with him she's really wanted to adopt it but they turned around and gave her an excuse saying they're going to go ahead and transfer the cat to some other some facility in Chicago when we live in South Bend. Transfer to some adoption facility in Chicago when we want to adopt a cat here in South bend. In other word for somebody else wanted the cat since it was a special breed of a cat and they're not willing to work for people here. I talked to Tammy at the animal control thing and she gave me nothing but a bunch of BS. I would highly recommend not going for this program.

We were originally interested in a dog named Amy. When I contacted them about meeting Amy they informed me that Amy was pending adoption BUT she had a sister if I was interested. Best decision ever! And both her and her sister got to be placed in homes in the same week! She is everything our family needed, couldn’t harm a fly, the sweetest thing that only wants lovins. I’m so thankful they suggested another dog instead of saying “sorry not available” and leaving it at that like other shelters might. They were super friendly and helpful. She has been with us almost 9 months now but it feels like she has been with our family forever. She is my sons best friend and the most cuddly bed hog. They made the process very easy to understand and simple.
