South Capitol Ramp

Convenient, close, nicely maintained parking garage near the Michigan State Capitol Bldg. Brightly lit facility. Take your parking ticket with you and pay at the kiosk near the center level 1 stairwell (see uploaded photo) prior to returning to your vehicle.

Parking is $3 per hour, but four L2 J1772 chargers are included in that price on the west side of the lot near the pay station and the Townsend Street entrance. High power L2 as well with 16 kW output.

It hasn't collapsed yet, a big plus for a ramp. Homeless people hang out in there when it rains. Luckily, there are mirrors so you can see what is around the corner as you come down the stairs. Always interesting to see what debris you'll find in the stairwells. The south stairwell often have puddles of urine.

Looked clean, steam was coming out of the street this morning and the grass repairs looked nicely laid. From the sidewalk to capital building looked tidy. 👍 this ramp just looks like it usually does though.

I parked here during jury duty. The parking was free for me; easy to find spots.
