Southern Oaks is one of the BEST home inspection companies I've ever hired. I recently purchased a new construction home, and Jay did an outstanding job with the inspection. His report was extremely thorough, with clear well marked photos and easy to understand explanations. No gimmicks and he was professional, responsive, and quick to answer every question or concern I had throughout the process. I truly enjoyed working with him and would absolutely use his service again and again in the future. I feel very fortunate to have found him because not all home inspectors are the same, and Jay truly stands out for his expertise and dedication. Coming from Boston and having worked with several inspectors in the past, I can confidentaly say he is one of the BEST!!

Jay did a great job with our 11 month inspection and pointed out items that need corrective action before the 1 year builder warranty expires. It was very easy to make an appointment online; Jay communicated with me via email often before he arrived; and he was professional and personable when he arrived. Jay produced his report quickly and it was clear and concise. I would recommend him highly to perform any future inspections.

We hired Jay to perform a mechanical inspection and sewer line scope on a new home being constructed very close to the "Final completion" stage. I found Jay's inspection to be very thorough and enabled us to bring items to the builder's attention that needed attention prior to closing (items that would have been missed otherwise). Every home I've purchased in my life has had a mechanical inspection and my first thought was questioning as to why I would need an inspection on a completely new home. My wife hired Jason (Jay) to conduct a series of inspections on our new home. He conducted a total of three inspections, beginning with the pouring of the foundation, pre-wall and a final inspection. Throughout the series of inspections, he was able to identify the deficiencies that needed to be addressed. After each inspection, he provided a very detailed report which we were able to share with our construction manager and follow up on the corrections needed to be made. The most relevant of these, was the identification of a pipe under the driveway, which was bent and a potential future problem.
