Stout Home Inspections was wonderful to work with! My husband and I are in the process of purchasing a home in Montclair, and worked with Robert for our inspection. Robert was so thorough in the inspection and very knowledgeable. Robert took time to explain and show us things around the house and put together a very detailed report with helpful links and reference images. Robert was very kind and easy to work with. We had a mix up with our inspection date which caused him to visit the property twice and spend hours waiting to complete the inspection - he was so understanding throughout the mix-up. We highly recommend Stout Home Inspections!

Robert is the most excellent home inspector! A friend who is a real estate agent recommended him and he could not have been better. He was so incredibly thorough, meticulous and knowledgeable - he walked us through the entire inspection, informing us completely along the way, showing us how to operate systems if we had questions, and also gave us great advice about optional things we could do to improve the place. Robert is also extremely pleasant to work with. My husband and I were so pleased to have someone so excellent who we could trust. We highly recommend Robert!!

Robert is friendly but professional. He takes his time during the inspection to point out and explain particular points he will write up later in a detailed report that you get to keep forever. He also knows a variety of appropriate professionals to bring in (for special inspections that are outside his scope) such as sewer, chimney, oil tank sweep, etc. He understands the intricacies of NJ housing inspections. Highly recommend.

Robert was the absolute highlight of our home buying process!! He coordinated the other inspectors (who equally were great), was detailed and thorough in his inspection (found something that was previously missed in the last "sold" home inspection), and educated us as he went. We could not be happier with our choice of home inspector!

5 stars. Totally recommend Rob for your House inspection. Rob walked us through our new house and as first time home buyers it was really appreciated. He showed us the wiring, pipes, how to shut off the water, when we need to refinish the deck etc. It felt like he was in our corner and he helped us understand and feel really comfortable about our home purchase. He also organized all the other inspections we had done, chimney, sewer, oil tank sweep etc which really took the mental load off of us. The report he created was detailed, and delivered in about 24 hours. So happy we went with Rob and cant recommend him highly enough.
