Svendsen & Keller

We loved working with Svendsen & Keller. They are professionally trained landscape designers and are very knowledgeable about a wide range of plants. I asked for a native, low maintenance planting that would be attractive to pollinators and birds—and they delivered. Monarch butterflies have stopped to feed and birds dive down from the trees. It is just beautiful to watch.

I was initially pretty happy with how my backyard came out last year, but spending over $10K with this company has become my biggest regret. Not only did I get severely overcharged, but I essentially paid for a backyard of all weeds and no grass. I can’t look at my backyard without getting upset with all the money I threw down the drain. I’ve emailed them and told them my backyard is 75% weeds, and they told me they can charge me for more pesticide treatments. For all the money I paid for a grass, I should not have to be spending more money! I am sorry to have to write this review, but no one should look at their backyard and cry and think about all the money they lost.

Svendsen & Keller are fantastic. They listened to what my vision and with their expertise they made it come to life. They created a gorgeous garden that fit the landscape to perfection. The gardens are constantly changing their pallet! The company was professional and always quickly responded to my questions and needs. The photos do not do the garden justice. I look forward to working on more gardens with them.

We have been so fortunate to engage Ilsa and Joe for their knowledge and expertise. I actually can’t remember when we first started this journey, but they have been endlessly patient with our musings, and ultimately executed a plan that is realistic, practical and within our budget. Over the years we have witnessed the transformation of our property to a beautiful palette populated with native low maintenance trees and plantings that we enjoy throughout the seasons. And complete with a delightful woodland path that meanders through a peaceful shaded garden. Our garden is filled with honey bees, butterflies and birds, and even a family of rabbits!

Ilsa and Joe worked with us to bring to life our front yard. They took our very basic description of what we were looking for and somehow completely nailed our inarticulate vision. How, I have no idea! - but it is brilliant. They have worked with us to phase the different sections of our yard (front and back) bringing quietly efficient, spot on project management, fantastic advice on planting and maintenance and a flexibility that we have enormously appreciated. We are thrilled with the results so far (admired by many and appreciated daily by us!) and can’t wait to begin phase 2 next year :)
