The customer service could be a lot better, a lot of the employees do not know where products are. Not saying all of them are but a lot of them are, they could be much more polite and actually act like they care about being there

The employees at this store seem to have very little knowledge about the products or systems they’re working with. The checkout process is almost entirely self-checkout, and when items don’t scan properly, getting assistance is frustrating. The staff who are supposed to help often appear uninterested and lack any real desire to resolve the issue. Customer service should feel supportive, especially when customers are already dealing with scanning problems. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case here.

5 stars for their good ood selection but 0 stars for their male return staff. I had a major project with thousands $$ spent on supplies. As with all major projects I had to come back many times for exchange and refunds. What could have been simple return turned out to leave a bad experience. The young male staff simply don't know basics of customer service. Their manners were simply horrific in answering simple questions. I mean, why put bodies in front of cash register without vetting to see if the staff is qualified to speak in proper manner? Update: I returned to HD a few times in past couple of weeks and I saw marked difference in customer service. Staff were polite and helpful.

I went to Home Depot on Elmont on 3/2/26 in search of Kerosene. I have purchased Kerosene there several times before so I knew exactly where to go but when I got to the section nothing was there. I found the first I could find and they didn't know what I was talking about, second person said they were sold out, I asked 2 employees huddled together they also said out of stock. When I was about to leave gentlemen walked by me and my friend while we were talking and said "hey guys how you doing". As he walked by I noticed he was Javier the Store manager by his name tag. I asked him about the Kerosene and without hesitation he looked it up and saw we had 40 in stock! It wasn't the bigger gallon I was used to but I needed. He paired me up with an employee who got if for me from the warehouse. I
