The Home Depot

Reserved a tool rental, upon arriving, their computer system was not functioning properly- 3 guys at service desk couldn't do anything, then became aggressive towards the customers waiting in front of me explaining that rental was not part of Home Depot. Unacceptable that there are not down-time procedures in place (especially since they said this happens every few months). I had proof of rental and payment online. Waited half an hour until system didn't reboot, unacceptable they could not provide any discounts for the inconvenience/try to help make the situation right in any way at all.

This Home Depot only gets three stars because they have a lot of stuff and it’s convenient to get in and out of. If you want an exceptionally less than satisfying experience, ask for Dave at the pro desk. He’ll certainly understand why. I may still shop here out of necessity, however I’ll try anything in my power to go to the big store next-door.

I placed an order on line for delivery constisting of pine boards, cabinet grade maple plywood and sanded plywood. The delivery person was polite and helped me move the lumber into my shop. However, while doing so I noticed the "maple" plywood was actually red oak. I phoned the store and was told I could have the correct plywood re-sent but that would take a few days. Being tight on time I asked if I could return the plywood my self and exchange it for the correct one, they said no problem. After exchanging the wood I was suprised to find that the manager had refunded me over $60 for my inconveience. Very unexpected but highly appreciated. I understand mistakes happen and to me how they are corrected is very important. Excellent customer service!

Im not one to complain, but the exceptionally bad treatment i endured earlier i feel obligated. I only started going to this location again after a 2 year period that i swore i wouldnt shop at home depot again because of the same unacceptable profiling and harassment of the shoplifting hall monitors this store employs. Ill admit that im not looking my best after a 12 hour work day on the job site. But who does? Or maybe its the van i drive, but also very common for a contractor. All i know is everytime im at this store, im followed by employees who if are trying to be sneaky are horrible at their job and also talk at full volume to one another. Id like to add that the last 3 times ive been here, ive been followed and harassed up until the point i paid, the smallest total amount was $1100.

Prior to a predicted ice storm, I went to Home Depot to buy a generator but they are all sold out except for a Ryobi generator that didn't exactly fit my needs but I figured it's a potential emergency. Prior to making the $900 purchase I asked if there were any restrictions on returns. They said as long as it wasn't opened or gas in it, it was a normal return. Eight days later I attempted to return the unopened generator Only to find That there was a seven-day Restriction on returns. Nothing they could do about it. Super frustrating not to be able to return an unopened generator 8 days after I'd purchased it. As the manager was explaining there was nothing they could do, a customer rolled out the same generator I was trying to return. Poor policy; poor customer service.
