Stopped by the The Home Depot – Riverhead on 1550 Old Country Rd, Riverhead, NY and had a largely positive experience with just a few minor hiccups. What stood out: The store hours are extremely generous — they open at 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday, which is perfect for early‑morning DIYers. The layout and signage made it straightforward to find what I needed: from building materials to garden supplies. The garden center in particular was easy to locate and had a solid selection. Staff were knowledgeable when I asked for help selecting a replacement part for a home project — they didn’t just point me to an aisle, they took the time to check stock and suggest compatible parts. The people here are very cheerful and the culture of the store with the employees is very positive. It was very heartwarming to see the staff come together and say happy New Year to everyone in the store. Everyone is always super helpful and asking if you need help and the store is always stocked with everything! Home Depot is like a second home sometimes it's like I'm here every other day for a project!

I have had a nightmare of a time ordering a new washer and dryer set from this location. Initially the didn’t bring all of the parts, which lead to a 2 hour call in an attempt to reschedule. When they came back they ended up installing incorrectly AND significantly scuffed and scratched my flood. As I attempt to file a complaint there is no number to call back to, just the faceless Home Depot customer call line. The customer service here is abysmal. I do NOT recommend buying any major appliances with install. You’re nearly guaranteed to have issues and zero recourse. Updating with pictures. Scuffed my floor AND smashed the dryer vent. F-

For all their insistance on using card only they really dont have the personel to be using computerized checkout. I was stuck there for half an our trying to make a return and then using store credit to make a purchase. They were scanning my ID for some reason??? So confusing and unneccessary. Cant we just go back to using cash? But the workers were very patient with me as we worked out the issue.
