The Odd-Jobber Handyman

Seth worked on two projects for us. Once he received pay for his work, he disappeared even prior to completing the agreed-to punch list. His custom built cabinets have drawers that are really difficult to shut, cabinet doors that don’t shut evenly, he didn’t finish a row of tile, he didn’t caulk a sink, he didn’t cut holes into a desk surface. In the initial job, he took 3x estimated time, he prioritized new projects over ours because he took so long on ours and needed to start others, and When trying to schedule a time for him to come back, he offered a date 4 weeks into the future, cancelled it, then rescheduled and just never showed up. He did take our money though!

Seth redid our master bath. The bathroom looks beautiful however there are several key plumbing issues that he is refusing to fix without us paying him additional money as well as basic remodel things that weren’t complete. Caulking, quarter round, etc. He only worked 4-5 hours a day. Was super sloppy and messy. We ended up cleaning up after him every afternoon and having to use our trailer to haul the bathroom trash to the dump. We have no water pressure in the new tub and he refuses to fix unless it fails an inspection. Says he had to “cut corners” to meet the 10 day deadline- a deadline he created for himself and was clearly never rushed as he never worked more than 5 hours a day. This Odd Jobber did a phenomenal job putting in our new flooring! From the moment I reached out to him, Seth was SO fast to answer my call, get me on his schedule for a quote, and then make things happen. He let us know day by day, what we would have to do to prepare them for the next day’s work (new floors means you store everything in one room, then move it to the next room the next day, etc.). Our house is so quiet now, and we’re all very happy with the whole thing.
