The Wall

The Wall built a beautiful canal for the run off from a culvert draining into a creek in my backyard. Dave Stratton evaluated the area and presented a couple of options to me for completing it. After accepting one of them, they were able to begin the work soon. Brandon, Carlos and their crew were able to complete the project in a couple of weeks, at times during rainstorms. They were very professional, did an outstanding job and kept the area clean. The first photo was taken before the work was done. I highly recommend their work.

We hired The Wall in 2025 for a highly detailed backyard remodel with complex design elements, tight site constraints, and limited access. As an architect managing my own home project, I had high expectations for precision and execution. Jake was excellent to work with—collaborative, detail-oriented, and accommodating of the finer points that architects tend to focus on. Our driveway failed about a year ago and it was time to get it properly replaced. We also had drainage issues with the property so we knew we needed a retaining wall driveway to not only divert water from the foundation but also bring the driveway up to the height of the street. We reached out to 5 retaining wall contractors in the Portland/Vancouver area, 3 never got back to us but The Wall and one other did respond and provide quotes. This review specifically regards Jake's incredibly honest, helpful and transparent feedback as we address a foundation stabilization project. His personal experience working with local companies in that industry over 20 years was invaluable toward deciding the best, most cost-effective solution. His objective, customer-focused mindset was immediately obvious, making him stand out in a field of contractors who at times can leave you confused about the best approach or doubtful about their priorities. At all times Jake seemed more interested in our homeowner welfare than in profit or nailing down a sale. Going forward the antique phrase "that ain't Jake" may come to mind more than once!

We hired The Wall to completely rebuild the retaining walls and stairs in front of our century old house. They did a beautiful job and we couldn’t be more happy with the work. It was a pretty big project and not cheap but the cost was very reasonable for the high quality of workmanship. Brandon was great! Highly recommend this company.
