Unfortunately for us, the old saying "you get what you pay for" was not true in our experience. The sales pitch meeting was convincing, we met with 2 experienced builders who said all the right things. As soon as we broke ground though, they brought in a new hire contractor who had never been a contractor before, and we never really saw the experienced builders after that. So we paid for the on the job training, in many ways. When we found problems or concerns we were often met with excuses or deflection, not a lot of ownership in their product. One of many examples; we brought up an issue with a window during the build that never got resolved, after the build they asked us to reach out to their supplier to "maybe" get it resolved, and wished us luck.
