Tim Morehouse Fencing Club - Upper West Side (210 West 91st)

My son Timmy, who is now 8, has been taking fencing lessons here for the last year, and he has had a great experience. He loves to come to practice, and has had the opportunity to fence in a few tournaments. As a parent, it's really fun to see him learn to enjoy the sport and get better. All of the coaches have been very supportive and encouraging. My son has had one-on-one lessons primarily with Coach Melvin Rodriguez who has been great - his love both for teaching and fencing are really evident when he is working with the kids. Lastly, one bonus which I didn't anticipate, is that I've really enjoyed getting to know the other families of the kids who fence at TMFC. We think very highly of Tim Morehouse Fencing Club. Our son has been attending their Youth classes (2 group lessons, 1 private lesson per week) for the past several months and is enjoying it. The coaches take a real interest in each child and ensure that they understand the various technical aspects of fencing. The club also facilitates competitions that are helpful as your child gains the requisite skills. Our son takes lessons with Luka who is great and very responsive.

My son has developed really strong, positive relationships with his coaches and peers, and it has brought so much positivity into his life. The sport is challenging but also has a super supportive vibe around it. He’s made so many new friends and he really looks up to the coaches and all the staff. It’s a really nice bunch of people running this club who truly care about their students. I always feel safe leaving my son here and I know he’s in good hands. Great job you guys.

Great place to learn and grow! Tim and the coaches teaches the kids great life values. Kids are motivated to try hard and do their best. To reach for the gold/star in life. Overall great life lessons to take with them not only when competiting but everyday life. The coaches take their time with the students ensuring that the time they have booked with them is focused on improving their skills. My 8yr old son went for a trial class and wanted to go back right away. Coach Melvin especially made such an impression on him that made him want to go back and we have been going ever since.

A phenomenal place for kids to have fun while learning the sport of fencing. Tim Morehouse Fencing Club instills focus and discipline in each student while providing a safe and exciting environment. The coaches are kind and welcoming and very insightful!
