Customer Reviews
The hospital is very new and nice, however, the parking is a trap. There are entrance and exit stations, but not in use. You parked and don't know you have to pay beforehand, you come back after half hour and get a parking citation of $85. Apparently they hire a full time worker generating revenue from parking fines, instead of helping patients to get a parking slip while entering and pay at the exit!
Usually plenty of spaces now. May not always be close to pay area, so makes it somewhat harder for elders who cannot walk fast/far. A bit tricky at first finding the exit you may want. I now use the valet service, as it's easier for my elderly father.
It’s really disappointing that UCSD Hillcrest doesn’t offer free parking for patients or validate parking passes. For a medical facility, this feels unfair — patients are already paying so much for healthcare, and adding extra parking costs just makes things harder. It’s frustrating to think that while the CEO and executives are making huge salaries, everyday patients are stuck paying even more just to attend appointments. Healthcare is already expensive enough; asking patients to pay for parking on top of that just feels wrong. UCSD should really reconsider this policy and offer free or validated parking for patients who are already dealing with so much.
If you don’t have cash, dealing with a family trauma event and parking reader can’t read you visa or debit card and there is no tap option or other way to pay on your way out - what are you supposed to do?
Can't beat the convenience, but it's feel more expensive than it ought to be. Seems like patients at the hospital or at the various medical offices should either get free parking or at substantially reduced rates.
