Edit: I see they say they have a new owner, so maybe things don't suck now. I have instAlled a number of unit steps at properties I have rehabbed and they have been a disaster. 25 year old steps from Unit Steps look great while the 6 year old ones are falling apart. Just had to replace an 8 year old large step unit that had a 6" hole in the tread. I switched to the guy in Latham, there is also a company in Schenectady. Ron doesn't return calls often and is hard to get him to do the inferior work.

Of course you're concrete steps are going to fall apart after less than a year if you salt them. Salt is a Chloride weather it's sodium Chloride or Calcium chloride any chemicals that create heat to melt ice eats concrete even products that say they are safe for concrete are no good in fine print on the back of the packages it says not safe for precast

Only one star because i couldn't give it less. My whole experience with Unit Step Company has been terrible. The steps they installed less than one year ago are flaking away to the point you can see raw stone on every riser. They look worse than the set of steps they replaced. The owner does not answer his phone, and will no longer return my messages.

Can removed wooden and installed concrete steps with two wrought iron railings. Beautifully done! Cleaned up after themselves after installation. Brings more curb appeal to our home!

Step are no good and they use junk concrete yes they don't even last a year and his form's he makes them in are no good there not flat they are warped and most of them are cracked to so do not buy go somewhere else you will pay more but worth it beware junkie steps
