They are running a racket at this school. They are happy to distribute excess permits to students, leading to there being no parking anywhere on campus during peak hours. They then intentionally leave up vaguely/poorly marked spaces in every lot, waiting for a student to park there and fine them $100.

I'm a employee at usc out on medical leave and came to work today to deliver a medical letter to my supervisor and lunch for my coworkers in my personal vehicle. With all the construction on main st I parked at the dock were I park my work truck at times. Only in for a short time I received a 60 dallor parking ticket. So under the circumstances I went parking for help, well l was wrong. The lady there did not care and it showed . Being a employee I asked if I could speak to someone else and I was denied. That put a bad taste in my mouth and I hope that lady don't ever need help from me. Try and do good things and it only bites you in the A.

Parking services at USC isn't great. Parking fees are exorbitant, ticketing is done randomly and not with any sort of consistency to who gets tickets when or why. Appeals process is a joke. Cheapest parking options still have you walking half a mile or more to anything you need to get to. Not nearly enough parking for the amount of faculty, staff, and students. Condition of garages is okay at best.

Gave me a parking ticket for parking at a spot reserved for my lot S4. Moved the red bags/ signage indicating that I could park there although when I initially parked there I was allowed too. Denied my appeal. How are you going to say that people can park there and then with no warning to back on your word.

UofSC parking fines students for parking on the most safe manner (back in). This is an uneccessary risk for those parking and for those that go around checking for decals (must walk in a lane of traffic). Not only this if you make any appeal they give you zero justification for it being over ruled. They will also send you a notice at 10:06PM saying your have 10 days to comply, meaning you really only get 1hr 54min that first day to do so. Further more, they take an entire semester to reseal a small lot and allow spaces paid for by students to be filled by unused Columbia PD cruisers and the school's own vehicles which rarely get used. I hope more people stand up to this broken system and hold it accountable for its lack of protecting students, faculty and their property, as well as not adh
