Van Hee Mechanical

We built a home in 2023 and were promised big things by adding a geothermal unit. We decided to go for it and the builder used Van Hee for the installation. We have had nothing but trouble with the system and this company since the beginning. I would give 0 stars if I could. We are on the verge of ripping the entire unit out.

We had a different company install our Geothermal when the house was built and had nothing but issues with hot and cold areas, lines freezing etc. Original company wouldn't come back out. I called VanHee 4 years ago and will never use another company. Our technician is extremely kind, thorough, helpful and always points us in the direction that's more cost effective. Our GT now runs flawlessly, the original company never filled it with Glycol, Vanhee figured it out and helped us in every way. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them. Now we get out system serviced once a year and all the valves adjusted at the same time.

Van Hee Geothermal has been nothing short of terrible to work with. They are unresponsive to phone calls or emails, they are lacking in skills when it comes to troubleshooting and they have an extremely limited staff which means it takes weeks to have someone service a repair. Their install technicians are solid, helpful and competent but their management is useless. The owner is not helpful and appears to have the attitude of take it or leave it, we have other business. I did a majority of the troubleshooting on some of our recent repairs and had to constantly call their office to give suggestions and get updates on how to manage the problem and solution. They ordered a new unit for us and expected an 8 week lead time. 18 weeks later we have not received a single update from them abou

Van Hee installed our system several years ago. It was nothing but trouble. It ran constantly, vibrated, and the lights in the house would dim when it came on. The "electric heat" would frequently come on. Then some sort of coil needed to be replaced, and then the buffer tank leaked. We did not have heat for much of last winter, and used electric heaters in our rooms. We tried to get them back and they did not return calls - this after we kept getting "error" messages on the system. We had another company rip out the system in the basement (field loop was fine) and replace it. No problems with the new system and a different company.

I WILL use this company for my future Geothermal needs. The Service Mechanic, Treven, is incredibly knowledge and well versed in this profession. He is kind, patient, and was thoughtful in explaining my Geothermal System to me. He serviced the system in a professional and timely fashion while exhibiting respect for the system, my space, and myself. Van Hee Mechanical is very reliable and professional all around.
