My partner and I were searching for a sizable remnant for a home project. When we called ahead, they offered to identify suitable options before we made the drive to their location. Upon arrival, staff guided us through the warehouse, helping us understand the distinct characteristics of different soapstone varieties. Once we selected the perfect remnant, they graciously cut it to our exact specifications on the spot, saving us what would have been another drive of over an hour. We are thrilled with our newly installed countertops from Virginia Soapstone. We started talking to Dana in December 2022. She was as kind and generous with her time nearly two years later, when we finally made the decision pick a slab and have Oscar template the job. It was a pleasure working with Oscar, as we were the "general contractors" and needed to know exactly how level the cabinets needed to be and what bracing had to be created for the stone. He also helped to steer me in a different direction when I could not figure out how to do the backsplash under the sink's window. With Dana's assistance on the design, it looks amazing. Not having a design team / kitchen contractor working with you makes decisions excruciating--so we were so happy to have their advice and help. Oscar

Oscar and his team were absolutely wonderful to work with! Oscar took the time to walk us through all the different soapstone options and really helped us understand the unique qualities of each one. I especially enjoyed the process of picking out our soapstone and marble with him—his eye for detail made sure the most beautiful parts of the stone were highlighted in our project. I don’t think we would have gotten that level of care and attention anywhere else. We are thrilled with the final result and can’t wait to enjoy these gorgeous stones for many years to come!

How did I not get my review in !!?? Dana was outstanding and her team did a perfect job. We remodeled our kitchen in our 1910 home in Lexington VA. Dana was willing to send her team 2x once to measure and once to install. Excellent exacting perfect performance. It’s been since December 2018 and our SS is still perfect. I love my custom sink they designed as well. I have recommended MTex/Dana to many folks and everyone has been impressed. We USE these countertops! My grandchildren love to bake and we don’t baby the soapstone. Thank you. Virginia Soapstone

Second time around for us. First time I remodeled our bathroom with soapstone. Gave Dana the dimensions and drawings, picked out a slab, and picked up after all was cut. Came out PERFECT. This past time we had poured a concrete slab but was unhappy with the results. After 3 years decided to bust it up and try Soapstone again. Sure glad we did. Had Dana's guys install and they did a fabulous job.
