Vulcan Basement Waterproofing

I had an incredibly positive experience with Vulcan. Everyone was so great from start to finish. My basement looks incredible. I’ve used them twice. I really love my kitchen. I wanted McKenzie Childs check and they found out. The bathrooms came out great too. Highly recommend!

Do not use this company. They never connected the discharge pipe so the sump pump was just pouring water behind my wall causing mold (see photos). They drilled through absestos tile and mastic, requiring me to go through thousands of dollars of asbestos abatement and risking harm to me and my family. On top of this they have made little effort to resolve anything. The project manager, Victor, will not return any phone calls. It’s borderline comical how I will be assured that victor will call me back and he never does. Over the past three weeks I’ve called Vulcan over ten times and each time an exasperated person on the phone will assure me that they relayed an urgent message to Victor and Terry again, and that they will call me by ends of day, but they never do. The asbestos issue is crazy

Vulcan waterproofed my basement with a French drain last year. Their prices are competitive and their work is good. There has been so much rain within the past year and my basement has been completely dry. I can sleep soundly during a rainstorm now because I know there won’t be any water in my basement. Hiring Vulcan was one of the best things I did and it was the best money I have ever spent on the house.

Unfortunately, while the service was excellent and the price was good, the quality of the work was lousy. My work was done in November of 23. They sent a crew of 6, but it was clear that only one person knew what to do. He arrived in a separate car, which should have been a clue. He did all the measuring and cutting of material, so I thought things were well in hand. I went back to my work, looked out the window and he was driving away. End result: There is foam on the walls and sheeting over insulating pad on the dirt floor. However, the foam has quite a few obvious voids, and aside from the sloppy (meaning not airtight) seams, the team did not tape around any of the equipment in the crawlspace (well water aerator, accumulator tank, pressure tank).
