This quarry is one of the better ones. When you first enter into the quarry, you are greeted by two clearly visible signs that welcome you into the quarry with the channel number and the speed limit. The main road in and out of the quarry is very well maintained. It is a nice smooth ride. The clear and visable signage continues throughout the quarry. The Pug Mill is easy to operate. I love the fact that the alarm for the mill is not located directly behind the driver's head. The entrance to the scale is wide enough that a driver doesn't have to worry about scraping his side walls by being off center an inch or two upon approch. We’ve sourced concrete here on and off for site and paving work. Mix consistency has been dependable, which matters more than anything when you’re coordinating crews and inspections.

Great people but not open during business hours. Showed up 15-20 minutes before they closed and said they wouldn't load us because the cutoff time is 4:30. This is not listed anywhere. We drove over an hour to get our last load and came back empty. If you're going to have a cutoff time, it should be clearly posted somewhere (or change your business hours). This cost us a lot of time & fuel, additionally it put us behind for getting our loads. It seems all quarries are different, though they're all under the Vulcan umbrella. It would seem to reason that Vulcan should standardize procedures so they don't cost their customers money. Inconsistent policies, especially that aren't published anywhere, are costly for small businesses!! Please do better.

Probably gonna avoid this one if I can. I went to pick up 3000lbs and was told they will only do it until the suspension is loaded. The most they would give me was 1400 lbs. This is the sole reason for taking my 8mpg truck out and now it has to be another trip. Not here though... Suspension didn't even squat..

I was having a concrete pad poured today. The crew needed more gravel than expected and so I had to hurry and call around for an additional delivery. My regular gravel guy was out of town so I called Vulcan. I told Lewis (I think that was his name) that I needed 5 tons of gravel on location around noon (I called around 9:30am) and he was very nice and said they could do it by that time. I went to the site and as noon came and went, I wanted to make sure they were still on their way since the concrete was in route. I called dispatch again and got a different guy (can't recall the name.) I told him I was just checking on the status of the load. I was polite and not upset and simply told him what timeframe I'd been given this morning. He got very nasty with me and said "This ain't pizza hut,
