Water Heater Express

I had a hot water heater leak and needed an immediate replacement. Steve was quick to provide a quote and made it to my house in Philadelphia in an hour with a new water heater. His price was also much more reasonable than the other two quotes I received. I’d recommend them again in a heartbeat!

Thank you for the quick and responsive service! My Rheem water heater was brand new and the igniter wouldn’t light the pilot. We had to go through Rheem and they were helpful in getting it diagnosed over the phone and sent a new igniter within 1-2 days and contacted a plumber to install which was Steve- Water Heater Express. He was able to work around my schedule and come rather quickly to replace the part once the part arrived. Steve is very knowledgeable and easygoing. His daughter is learning the trade and she did very well. Thanks again!🙏🏼

Water Heater Express was listed as one of the contractors associated with Rheem hot water heaters, which is how I initially got in touch with them. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely negative from the very beginning. When I first reached out, they became aggressive with nonstop phone calls and texts—so much so that I was still receiving messages late into the night when I was trying to go to sleep. They also kept pressing me about how I planned to cover the $575 “basic installation” fee, even though I explained multiple times that I had a labor warranty through Rheem. I was told I would receive a 30-minute ETA notice before the installer arrived, but the worker showed up earlier than the given time window. Since I wasn’t home yet, I had someone let him inside. Almost immediately,

Smelled gas at base of water heater and PECO arrived and stated I had bad control valve on my hot water heater using their electronic gas detector. Water heater is 4 years old and is under warranty for 6 years. Paid 325 for Steve to replace the control valve, and the replacement was also faulty and leaking gas. Steve stated I should call PECO again (I could smell gas myself from the exact same spot as the first control valve). No reasonable solution was offered other than replacing the whole tank at my expense. Also recommended furnace company who charged my credit card before even setting foot in my house and doing any work and without an invoice. Essentially were being pre-paid for work they had not done yet. Would not recommend.
