The owner David approached my family after a windstorm after awkwardly following us in the street. He offered to fix our roof he had a nice business card and a binder with the company name on it. He showed us a Buffalo license and insurance cards. We let this man into our house. My real big regret. Months passed and we were playing phone tag. I threatened to take them to court until he finally showed up with 2 other people and spent a week doing a horrible job. My husband hired Whitman metal roofing in the fall of 2018. I told him something didn't seem right with the contract and paperwork, but he insisted on giving them a chance. We then wrote a check for 8000 dollars to the owner David Whitman. After the third week past the schedualed start date and Whitman Metal not picking up the phone we knew something was not right. We called the buffalo licensing department and found that Whitman metal and roofing had no licences to do work in Buffalo. My husband then called David Whitman and asked for our deposit back because they did not have the licences like David Whitman had said. David Whitman from Whitman Metal Roofing scammed us on two roof jobs. In early 2019, I had two properties with wind damage to their roof. David took the insurance money and over $12,000 of my own money and never put a single shingle on either roof. Between the insurance payout and my own, he absconded with over $20,000.00. Do not trust this man!!!!

FYI: The owner (David Whitman) admitted to my husband that his employees have written fake reviews for his business. We have text message evidence of that. If this review saves one family from going through what we have gone through then I will be satisfied. Do your research and do a google search of the owner so you really know what kind of person you are dealing with. We signed a contract at the beginning of April and were continuously lied to about when work would begin, when material would be delivered and when our job would be completed. They showed up on JULY 24 after we told them we were no longer interested in doing business with them... over three months after signing a contract. I would recommend Whitman Metal & Roofing Inc. I had some damage to my roof. They came out to provide a quote and then returned as scheduled to do the work. After removing part of my roof for repair, it became apparent that I had a substantial amount of preexisting damage from an inadequate previous repair. I expected a substantial increase in price, but the additional cost was very minimal. I am very happy with the work and would definitely recommend.
