Willcox Playa Wildife Area

Thousands of Sandhills, snow geese, shoveler ducks and a variety of other species. The site was nice, with view stands etc. But, some people just have to spoil it by trying to get too close with their "camera"(phone) and scaring the birds and ruining it for other viewers.

Nice place for quick overnight. Designated camping area. Some traffic, but less overnight. There is a hiking trail from camping area. Camping area is basically a gravel lot. Can drive 10 miles north and see the cranes.

It's okay for one night of dispersed camping. Will hike the 2.4 mile trail in the morning. It's been a big day already. The road noise is sparse and of no concern. Wine country is right down the road.

Easy pull-off from road. The dirt lot has some deep ruts and flat areas. Rainy and cold last night but this spot worked perfect for me and several other campers are here as well. No toilet from what I can tell. Will bundle up and hit the walking trail behind the lot this morning😁

Small dispersed camping area enough room for maybe 5 rvs. Good location to try Willcox wineries.
