Window Installation by The Home Depot

I ordered a back door with a built in doggie door in December, the woman I worked with was not helpful, I went with Home Depot because I thought I would get the professional help I needed to purchase this new door. It didn’t happen. They finally sent out an installer to measure the door opening and determine the door requirements for my space. When I hear back from Home Depot, it was the same results, Laura was not helpful, I tried to explain to her I was 80 years old and needed help making the right decision on this door. When we finally decided on a door I signed and unfortunately paid in full for the door and installation, the installation cost more than the very expensive door cost me. The door installer (Ed S.) arrived at a great time (about halfway through the time window) and was very accommodating. Shortly after he arrived I realized I wanted the locks rekeyed. He provided some guidance and I went to the local home Depot while he hung the door. I could not have hoped for a better installer or installation.

On-line order placed in September 25', was not delivered until December 25'. When the installer arrived with the door, it was too big for the project. Door was returned and the replacement didn't arrive e until February 26'. A 90 minute in-store conversation was needed with the Milling Clerk in October 25' to even get the project activated. Overall, Home Depot failed at every level.

The project started in August 2025 and I am afraid the installation is still not complete and it’s now Feb 2026. It’s taken over 6 months unfortunately. there’s been at least three instances of missing or incorrect parts between the door manufacturer, Home Depot, and and the installation firm. I think there’s a big disconnect between the communication across these parties. .People are really nice to work with but hoping my door can finally be completed!

I ordered 2 doors from the Imperial Ave store in September. One of the doors was a special order. After more than 2 months, the installer with both doors. After initial site survey, he told me that one of the doors was incorrect. He did install the standard non special order door. I never received the other door and the Home Depot never contacted me.
