A1 Garage Door Service

My husband and I added magnetic wood veneers to the front of our garage door for aesthetics. Doing this added extra weight to the door that needed to be accounted for with raising the garage door. We were expecting to have the existing springs tightened to account for the added weight. We requested A1 Garage Door Service to come to our house to tighten the springs. When Greg arrived, he informed us that the springs were extremely underpowered for the size of our door and had already worn out as the previous owner of the home had picked the cheapest possible (uncoated) springs. They were so cheap quality that A1 Garage Door Service does NOT even sell them! The old springs were only 6 years old and already at the end of life. They could've snapped at any moment, which could've hurt someone.

My garage door had a broken spring which kept me from going to work. Called A1 after the first company I called sent a 3rd party contractor that was super shady (no signage on the truck and no company letterhead on the paperwork). I called A1 at 12:55pm and immediately knew I called the right company. A1 provided me with a service call from 2-5pm. I received a text a few minutes later with a bio and picture of the Tech that was assigned. The Tech arrived at 2:05pm in his A1 company van and immediately got to work on diagnosing the problem. I worked with Jake. He was professional, polite and listened rather than just going through a canned presentation. While measuring the garage doors I'm replacing, Jake noticed there were two screws missing. He went out to his van, got his power screwdriver and a couple of screws and made sure it was working properly. He didn't want anything to fail before my new doors were installed. I was treated so well, I canceled the last garage door company I was planning to meet with. I'm a pretty "thrifty" guy and believe I got a solid deal coupled with 12 months same-as-cash financing and a warranty where I go to A1 Garage Door directly has they do the work in-house. I will recommend them to friends and family.
