I lost my keys fishing for Sheepshead on the jetti yesterday. My phone was locked in my truck so I had to rely on John to find me because I had no way to stay in communication. I initially contacted Amelia Lock and Key to have the key fob programmed for my vehicle. I informed them I had the old and new fobs. I went to their place of business first thing in the morning (0800-0830) and brought my fobs. They didn't seem overly friendly. What they failed to tell me on initial contact was that I had to have the car with me, causing me to go home to get the "right" car. After returning, they seemed to warm up and were more welcoming. They programmed my fob without incident. It was MY fault that I did not ask what the cost would be upfront for the programming, as I assumed it would be cheaper than the dealer and I LOVE patronizing small business. After the fact, I found they charge 50% more than the dealer. It pays to shop around.

Excellent service & rates. Friendly local business on Amelia island. We had our front door handle switched out when we moved here & they also switched over about 10 separate keys to the same one when we moved here a few years ago. Recently they installed a deadbolt on my office’s closet door. They matched the style & did the small job in 20 minutes. I’m so glad to have a reliable business nearby to help with keys & locks.
