I've been a long time customer of American Air Heating and Cooling and use their preventive maintenance programs for seasonal checks, as well as having them replace a full HVAC unit and repairs as needed. Service is always prompt, technicians knowledgeable and professional. I recently had a thermostat act up and eventually go out on me (during our heat dome) and called in for service. I received a quick response and want to give a Hats off to Dave for being diligent and determined to get me back up and running. Turns out there were a couple of wiring problems that were caused by a lighting issue from days before. It was not an obvious repair issue, but Dave was determined not to leave me hanging. Summer can be brutal here and I appreciate the great service.

First I will disclose that I have done HVAC for a good part of my life as well as have run a business for 20 years but retired now. I called 3 company's for a price to replace my outside package heat pump unit. 1st one gave me a price on a piece of handwritten paper. 2nd said he would let me know never ever heard back.American Heating and Cooling showed up at the exact time as they said the would to give me a estimate. I had the owner Chad give me the estimate. He was very professional and gave me literature on the different units available and options. I knew within a few minutes that this company would be the one whom I would have do the install. He gave me a price and date for the replacement. If I could give less than one star I would. This has to be the most unprofessional, incompetent business in the world. I have had them out 5 times in one month and I still do not have air. They transferred the warranty for the system on the house I just bought and charged me to do so. Now they are not honoring the warranty and refusing to fix/replace my unit unless I accept the refund for the warranty which they gave me which seems to be suspicious. I was insulted by Chad technician when I called because the unit began to leak water from the attic onto the second floor causing damage to my ceiling because I questioned using aftermarket parts which may not fix the problem when I could just put that money towards a new system. He was not concerned and just kept saying we will refund the war

American Air Heating & Cooling (Services NC and SC) sold me a service contract and discovered a leak back in 2022. The leak was never discussed with me nor was I given an option for repair, so I was just charged for the refrigerant. The same thing happened in 2023 and then again on 5/16/2025. On this visit Adam claimed that the Evaporator Coils were leaking, and I needed a new system. He did not offer to replace the coils, he stated that the parts were not available which was a complete lie according to Lennox. His main concern was selling a system and a new service plan for another 3 years. I called Lennox the manufacturer and they sent out a certified Lennox dealer/service company.
